Job Description
Ensures Divers care standards are achieved through knowledge and application of policies and procedures. Participates in Divers care’s Continuous Quality Improvement program and supports the residence’s Vision Team initiatives
BACKGROUND / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to maintain effective oral and written communications (in English) and have a positive self-projection, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families and other team members
- Knowledge of WHMIS, Food Safe required
- Previous experience in food service in a hospitality setting is preferred
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and be able to demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills
- Ability to use initiative in problem solving
- Ability to work independently as well as taking direction, a team player; flexible and versatile
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans all dishes, pots and pans
- Clears area around dishwasher – cleans dishwasher and filters
- Clears tables in kitchen as required
- Disposes of all garbage/cardboard from kitchen areas
- Cleans and maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen area, cleans equipment, floors, walls, pot sink, dishwasher area, garbage containers etc.
- Responsible to monitor and record dishwasher temperatures daily
- Assists in putting away all supplies when delivered
- Assist in bussing and serving of food
- Any other duties as may be assigned
- Ensures effective team communication within the residence, logs any concerns re resident behavior in communication book.
- Demonstrates outstanding public relations skills with residents, potential clients, staff and all persons visiting the residence
- Shares responsibility, through participation in in-service and education, in safety standards of the residence
- Recognizes safety hazards and assists in maintaining a safe, neat, clean environment for residents and staff. It is every employee’s responsibility to report any unsafe work condition immediately.
- Participates in the Residence’s ongoing Fire Prevention, Continuous Quality Improvement, Occupational Health and Safety, and Infection Control programs as required.
- Responsible with all staff members to actively take part in the monitoring of all residents on a regular and on-going basis to ensure their safety and well-being. This protective oversight includes the responsibility to report any unusual occurrence, concern, or change in a resident’s daily life which may affect their health or welfare. The onus is upon all employees to formally document these incidents on a “CQI Incident Report”.
